Gazprom future is in liquefied natural gas

Three first settlements in the Perm Territory to which natural gas will be supplied using LNG technology without use of cross-country gas pipelines have been selected by Gazprom Gazenergoset OJSC in the scope of implementation of the Remote Regions Gasification Program. These are Ilyinskiy settlement (Ilyinskiy district), Nerdva settlement (Karagay district) and Severniy Kommunar settlement (Siva district).

The built Liquefied Natural Gas Intake, Storage and Regasification Systems (LNG ISRS) are a part of unified technologically interconnected system for liquefaction, storage, transportation and regasification of LNG in the Perm Territory.

Gazprom Gazenergoset OJSC plans to begin operation of all three systems by 2014-2015 heating season. Cryogastech LLC (Saint Petersburg) having considerable experience in the field of storage system design and LNG regasification has been selected as the designer of LNG technology for all three sites of Gazprom Gazenergoset OJSC.

In order to increase reliability and unification of solutions all three systems have been designed using identical process solutions so that to allow operating and maintaining the systems using minimum number of personnel and equipment. LNG storage in tanks with pressure maintenance from 0.3 to 0.6 MPa, switching of atmospheric vaporizer set, maintenance of preset temperature at the system outlet using regulated electric heaters as well as switching of LNG supply from storage tank to another tank when achieving minimum level in the used tank are performed in automatic mode.

The system operation is automated to the maximum and performed manually in case of connecting a filling truck to LNG discharge unit only. Information on condition and parameters of equipment operation is transmitted both to a local control point and to the Control Room of LNG Plant. That guarantees timeliness of LNG supply and safety of the complex operation. Modern LNG atmospheric vaporizers IS-1600-S made by NPO Monitoring LLC are used as a part of the LNG storage and regasification system.

Natural gas meeting GOST 5542-87 and fed to medium pressure pipeline for distribution to consumers of nearby settlement including private houses and municipal boiler plants is at the system maintenance area outlet.
