13th International Scientific Conference Cryogenics-2014 was held in Prague (Czech Republic) on April 7-11, 2014.
The leading companies in the field of production and designing of cryogenic facilities have met to present their latest achievements, discussion of modern trends and the latest innovations in this sphere of human activity.
The Conference program was divided into the following topics:
- Cryogenics in quantum physics and superconductivity;
- Liquid helium. Production and application:
- Air separation products. Preparation, storage and application;
- Liquefied natural gas;
- Gas refining;
- Purification and dehydration of natural gas;
- Insulation, cryostats and cryocoolers;
- Cryobiology and cryomedicine.
Specialists from Australia, Austria, Germany, India, China, Russia, USA, Ukraine, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Japan and many other countries took part in the Conference. Linde, Air Products (USA) and Chart (Czech Republic) were the General Sponsors of the Conference. Cryogenic Gas Technologies Company (Cryogaztech LLC), Saint Petersburg, was presented among Russian companies.
Topics connected with global electric power industry and application of cryogenic technologies in the energy economy, construction of eco-friendly engines running on liquid air as well as generators of cold of new types have been discussed among important topics at the Conference.
A report presented by R. J. Allam American expert on construction of heat power plants operating without carbon dioxide emission to the atmosphere has aroused interest in the scope of innovations. The symbiosis of traditional electric power industry and cryogenics for creation of a new type of ecologically-safe HPP the by-product of which will be liquid or solid carbon dioxide has been proposed in this technology.
A report presented by Russian scientists from Bauman Moscow State Technical University has aroused not less interest. A unique wave cryogenerator that will be able to replace a turbine expander in traditional refrigeration schemes was created there under the leadership of Professor Arkharov A. M. In addition the cost of such machine is estimated approximately five times less than the cost of the turbine expander.
A report in the field of natural gas purification from СО2 and dehydration from Н2О with studying a model and tracing of response curves for natural gas and LNG produced as a multicomponent mixture with complicated interaction has aroused special interest among participants and a large number of questions. Variants of mixture response at different pressures and temperatures, formation and fallout of crystalline hydrates have been also considered in it.
Other reports in the field of cryogenics, production and processing of natural gas, air separation, electric power industry as well as processes and technologies connected with them have been also presented.
In the future Cryogaztech LLC is intended to become a regular participant and a partner of this Conference for exchange of experience and tracing of world achievements in the sphere of cryogenic technology and equipment.
