Natural Gas Liquefaction Plant (NGLP) in Nikolayevsk-on-Amur

Natural Gas Liquefaction Plant (NGLP) in Nikolayevsk-on-Amur will allow creating a unified technologically interconnected enterprise for production, temporary accumulation, shipment and transportation of LNG with its subsequent storage, regasification and supply to low and high pressure networks for gas supply of Mnogovershinniy settlement in the Khabarovsk Territory.

The LNG production facility in Nikolayevsk-on-Amur will allow providing supply of up to 1.5 tones of liquefied natural gas per hour to consumers. And that is equal to supply of 18.53 mln nm3 of natural gas at 8400 hours of work per year.

The Natural Gas Liquefaction Plant (NGLP) has continuous operation mode. Work hours: 8400. The frequency of process equipment service maintenance is determined by certificates and regulations for respective equipment.

Original gas is fed to NGLP site via high-pressure gas pipeline branch from Okha – Komsomolsk-on-Amur cross-country gas pipeline.

The process design of created NGLP is based on up-to-date technology of 100 % gas liquefaction without pressure increase with its cooling by a nitrogen refrigerating machine. This technology has been proven by foreign companies. Regulatory requirements, tried and tested technologies and principles of safe equipment arrangement at LNG production plants previously built in the Leningrad region, passed the state expert appraisal and operated successfully for over 15 years are taken into account at designing.

The designed NGLP is classified as hazardous production facility in accordance with provisions of Law No. 116-FZ "Concerning the Industrial Safety of Hazardous Production Facilities" of 21.07.1997. The pressure of produced and temporary accumulated LNG is not more than 0.6 MPa. Normal quantity of LNG present at the site at a time is not more than 80 tones.

Construction of the Natural Gas Liquefaction Plant (NGLP) in the Khabarovsk Territory, LNG production and its further supply to consumers will allow switching the existing coal, fuel oil and diesel municipal boiler houses to natural gas as well as providing natural gas supply for needs of the public thus reducing environmental impact as well as raising the living standards of people living in these settlements.

The created Natural Gas Liquefaction Plant is designed as a fully-autonomous unit and natural gas only is required for its operation. Such solution allows installing it almost in any area and that is very important at gas supply to remote areas of Russia.
